Keystone Kops at the ‘Sourdough Rendezvous’

The Sourdough Rendezvous is our winter carnival and it’s happening this weekend.  There’s lots of fun with all kinds of outdoor events, including flour packing, dog team races, chain saw throwing, etc. We also have our world famous snow carvers creating awesome sculptures.  And then there’s the crowning of our Rendezvous Queen.

A great time to get out and take in the excitement, especially when the weather has been cooperating as it has.

But, you have to ‘get with the program’ and wear something that proves you’re in the spirit of things.  Otherwise, you might get ‘arrested’ by the Keystone Kops.

Guess who was their latest target?

Oh, Oh, Reverend Bev doesn’t have her Rendezvous Button.

However, she is wearing the traditional Rendezvous garter!! Ha, Ha.

So, all’s well that ends well.

  1. Well! That was the first time I've been in jail, honest!
It was fun and actually it was the only Rendez vous thing I got to participate in, because I had a Presbytery meeting that took up the whole Rendez Vous weekend. Great community building stuff.
Hey people talk to me - next year do you think it would be a good idea to put a Whitehorse United Church float or entry of some kind in the parade? My theory on that is that the more visible we are in the community, the more people see our name and see us as a real part of the community, the more likely they will be to come to us when/if they need a church, or need a friend, or have questions they want to explore. Being visible in the community really helps that happen. That's my scoop anyway....what do you think?
